A Life History Study on Reintegration of the Returned Migrants ——A case study of returned skill migrants from Canada in Beijing

Abstract
Using the experiences of three returned skill migrants from Canada now settling down in Beijing as research subjects,the article's author conducted a study of reintegration of the returned migrants from the perspective of life history.The study focused on three important aspects of the reintegration process: psychological adjustment,localization of life-style and behavior,and trans-nationalization of social capital.All of these three returnees spoke positively about their reintegration regardless of their actual experiences.The positive emic view of these returnees is highly related to the degree of satisfaction that their expectations for self-fulfillment of their value of life and career goals have been attained.The study concluded that,for individual returnees,reintegration is a continuing interactions between their internal needs and external realities,a process in which returnees struggle to win a micro-space to realize their self-worth.
