Abstract
The cold heavy oil production(CHOP)is a new heavy oil development technology first appeared in Canada in recent years.Exploiting heavy oil resource will be the important means to lessen the pressure resulted in crude oil shortage.There are realistic and strategic meanings of economically and efficiently exploiting heavy oil reservoirs.Nowadays,cold production with sand has become a hot spot for heavy oil development.The cold heavy oil production(CHOP)is based on both worm hole which occur after a great lot of sand is produced and steady foaming crude,by which the oil production can be remarkably enhanced.Whether applying the technology to develop the reservoirs mainly to be decided by reservoir and oil characters,moreover it needs to study the matching technologies.
