Efficacy of Local Injection on Cervical 2 Processus Transverses and Stellate Ganglion Block for Cervicogenic Headache

Abstract
Objective:To explore the effectiveness of two methods(local injection on cervical 2 processus transverses and stellate ganglion block) in the treatment of cervicogenic headache(CEH).Methods: Ninety-six cervicogenic headache patients were randomly divided into 3 groups: local injection on cervical 2 processus transverses(36 cases),stellate ganglion block(36 cases) and control group(25 cases).All the patients were assessed with short-form McGill pain questionnaire before and after the treatment.Results: There was no difference before the treatment among three groups.After the treatment local injection on cervical 2 processus transverses and stellate ganglion block did not show significant difference in pain scores,but they were superior to control group(P0.05).Conclusion: There was no difference in effectiveness between local injection on cervical 2 processus transverses and stellate ganglion block,and the latter may substitute the former in some occasions.
