Abstract
The Edible Women is the world-famous Canadian novelist Margaret Atwood's first novel and also one of her great masterpieces.The novel explores women's social status in modern society,vividly unfolding women intellectual's perplexing,confusing and struggling living existence in 1960s Canadian society.Through close reading,this paper interprets the narrative perspective transference in the three chapters of the novel,i.e.from the first person narration to the third person narration and back to the first person narration.It further concludes that this transference properly goes together with the heroine,Marian's self-growing course from losing her true self to pondering the reality and to choosing her own life and pursuing the value of life.
