La question des abus associés aux soins et aux services dispensés aux personnes âgées en institution est au coeur de cet article. Comment les abus sont-ils définis, identifiés et « traités » par le personnel cadre des établissements ? Dans un contexte où les institutions accueillent une clientèle de plus en plus dépendante, alors même que les budgets diminuent, le personnel interrogé établit un lien entre les abus commis et la transformation des conditions de travail, tout en reconnaissant l’importance d’une composante individuelle dans la dynamique des abus.
