The liquid-phase silicon-aluminizing was conducted for a Ti 3Al-based alloy by using Al-8Si(mass %)melt.The XRD analysis results showed that the coating was composed of TiAl 3 and TiSi compounds.The silico-aluminizing treatment of 1013 K/6 min+983 K/10 min remarkably improved the high-temperature oxidatio resistance of the Ti 3Al-based alloy.The coating microstructures after oxidation at 1173 K for 100 h were examined.It is pointed out that the improvement of oxidation resistance is attributed to the formation of a dense Al 2O 3 film on the top surface of the coated Ti 3Al-based alloy.
