Abstract
Un mode de paiement pour service environnemental (PSE), le mécanisme marocain de compensations pour mise en défens (CMD) pourrait autoriser les populations locales à réinvestir leur territoire, voire à redécouvrir leur patrimoine bio-culturel. Tout espoir de reconquête véritable s’avère néanmoins illusoire, la finalité première du mécanisme étant de conforter le pouvoir de l’administration forestière. L’examen du projet-pilote REDD (Réduire les émissions de gaz à effet de serre en luttant contre la déforestation et la dégradation des forêts) marocain le confirme, qui pourrait doubler le mécanisme de CMD d’un nouveau mode de PSE dans la forêt de Mâamora sans que la population locale soit au cœur du dispositif.
