Abstract

panoramic image stitching is important in the research of image-based rendering (IBR).In this paper, a steady and fast arithmetic is brought out to quickly create cylindrical panoramic image . This algorithm projects the 2D image to get 1D data, then selects a appropriate gray segment as the template, and completes the adjacent image stitching by employing the Sequential Similarity Detection Algorithm (SSDA) method with self-adapting threshold in template matching. Finally, by adopting linear weight method, the stitching image is more natural and lifelike. Experimental results with sequences of camera-taken images prove the efficiency of the proposed approach are given and are not sensitive to the exposure difference between consecutive images.
