Abstract
To understand the characteristics of the flow, transfer and mass in the Ba-Cu-O melt for super-conducting material Yba_2Cu_3O_(2-x) (Y123) single crystal growth by Czochralski method, this paper presents the numerical simulations of the two-dimension unsteady flow, thermal and Y concentration fields in the Ba-Cu-O melt for Y123 single crystal growth. The range of the Grashof number in the numerical simulations is 4.91×10~5~3.92×10~6. The results show that the flow is steady at a small Grashof number. As the temperature difference increases, the flow will lose its stability to become the oscillatory flow.
