Abstract
[Objective] The seeds of Salvia militorrhiza Bge.and Salvia przewalskii Maxim were identified.[Method] Seeds were sprouted at 25 ℃.The root-tip with 0.5～1.0 cm length were cut and treated in 4 ℃ refrigerator for 24 hours,fixed for 1～1.5 hours with Carnoy’s fixative,differentiated for 10-15 min with hydrochloric acid and Ethanol 95 %(1∶1),pressed to section in carmine for staining. Them were observed under microscope,then the samples that differentiated well chosen,covered on frozen station with mountin Canada balsam(neutral mounting medium),for micro-photographing,counting and measuring.[Result]There were significant differences in the morphology and the structure.[Conclusion] Salvia militorrhiza Bge.and Salvia przewalskii Maxim seed can be identified effectively through chromosomal technique.
