Abstract

An eye movement study on the visual search of Web page layout was conducted.were 12 university students.The independent variables were :Web page layout.The experiment device was a EyelinkⅡsystem made in Canada.It was found that,the layout of Web page had significant effect on fixation number(F=35.056,P0.001)、scanning distance(F=13.852,P0.001) and fixation duration(F=16.535,P0.001).The layout of Web page had significant effect on first fixation in different quadrant of the same layout instead of first fixation distributing.The performance of Ttype was higher than the other's in visual search.
