Abstract

Objective:To study the application of umbilial blood flow monitoring in the prenatal examination. Methods:385 pregnant women,pregnancy of 24 +6 to 40 +6 weeks, were examined with foetal umbilical blood flow detector. The S/D?PI ?RI and FVR were measured by continuous ultrasonic detection of the fetal umbilical artery flow,then the result was analyzed by computer. Results: Abnormal umbilical blood flow was detected in 60 pregnant women(15.6%). The abnormal S/D was found in 36 casec (9.4%),and abnormal RI?PI and FVR in 24 cases(6.2%). Umbilical cord reeling fetal neck was found in 115 pregnant women(29.8%). The incidences of intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) and neonatorum asphyxia significantly increased in pregnant women with abnormal umbilical blood flow ( P 0.05). Conclusions: The monitoring of umbilical blood flow is a good way in prenatal care.
