Abstract
The dissemination of Chinese in Canada has the function of maintaining Chinese culture,improving Canadian Chinese's status in Canada and enriching Multiculture in Canada.The history of Chinese maintenance in Canada is long,which can be divided into four stages: the emerging period,the initial period,slowing development period,and rapid development period.Chinese has been spread rapidly in Canada due to a outside-inside-outside mode.However,there are still many problems for promoting Chinese in Canada,such as some Canadian Chinese's cultural isolation,under emphasis of Chinese course in public schools,lack of teaching materials acceptable for students in Canada,and the need of qualified teachers.Therefore,to accelerate Chinese promotion in Canada,Canada should set up more Chinese language schools,open or add Chinese as a required course in educational system,take full advantage of media,and stress the function of family education.In promoting Chinese education to Canada,China should shift from government's leading role to Marketization.In the future,Chinese dissemination and education in Canada will certainly develop better.
