Abstract
The technical regulations of flammability for home textiles in China, USA, Japan, Canada and European Union were introduced and compared, such as FFA (Flammable Fabrics Act), 16 CFR part 1630 (Standard for the Surface Flammability of Carpets), 16 CFR part 1632 (Standard for the flammability of mattresses and mattress pads) etc. from the USA; Fire Fighting Law from Japan; regulations of the usage of flame retardant from European Union; CHPA (Canada Hazardous Products Act) from Canada; as well as GB17591—1998 (Flame Retardant Woven Fabric) from China etc. The research showed that the technical regulations of flammability of various countries and areas were different from each other. The difference among them is important to guide the China home textiles to trade with other countries.
