Abstract
Narratological-stylistics integrates narratological and stylistics analysis,providing a new perspective for literary analysis.This paper,focusing on Runaway,the recent short story by Alice Munro,a Canadian woman writer,explores its narrative perspective and modes of presentation within the framework of narratological-stylistics.The study indicates that the multi-narrative perspectives of the story composed of psychological,spatial as well as ideological perspectives reveal the complicated inward and outward features when the protagonist tries to run away from the oppressed family life.Furthermore,the paper also carries out a stylistic analysis of the characters' speech and thought presentations by examining the use of direct and indirect speech,the selection of punctuations and sentence patterns so as to portray the struggling and desperate state of mind of women when they are escaping from their marital and psychological difficulties.
