Abstract
This paper studied temperature,illumination and soil moisturecontent as well as seed storage on seed germination characteristics of Lagerstroemia subcostata Koehne.The result indicated that illumination could improve seed germination,and temperature could compensate the insufficient of illumination.On the condition of periodic alternation of illumination and darkness,the optimum temperature for seed germination was 25 ℃ to 30 ℃.In full darkness,the optimum temperature was 30 ℃.The optimum soil moisture was 14% to 55%.In all,this kind of seed was tolerant of desiccation,low-temperature and storage.It could be conserved in seedbank for long-time.
