This paper has analyzed the performance of optical FBG's strain and temperature sensing, theoretically calculated central wavelength changes' influence on the coefficient of sensing, brought forward a method to eliminate the temperature's influence on FBG's strain sensing, and studied the coupling effects of FBG's strain and temperature sensing. The performance of optical FBG's strain and temperature sensing has also been studied through the experiment of materials and equal strength beam. The results from experiments and theoretical analyses show that they were consistent with each other, the wavelength changes were linear with the stain and temperature and that central wavelength changes have little effects on the coefficient of FBG's sensing.
