Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Using the research on overseas Chinese as an empirical case, this paper elucidates the innovative perspectives of relational sociology. This means that the relational sociology is comprehended from a broad viewpoint and the research of society starts with social relation instead of the essence of society. In the past, there have been two points of view for studying overseas Chinese. The first one stresses that overseas Chinese possess the traditional blood relationship, whereas the second one is to comprehend overseas Chinese with the racial concepts, both stressing the cultural essence and racial original distinction. From the native soil concepts and the ties with home clans of overseas Chinese,it can be seen that the development of national relationship is affected by multiple relationships, involving the relationship between overseas Chinese and China and that between overseas Chinese and host population. Moreover, the paper shows that the racialization of overseas Chinese in foreign states is not based on their own racial essence, but stems from the unequal relationship between overseas Chinese and the host society′s mainstream nationalities. It then describes a few problems of relational sociology deserving exploration.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
