There are photoperiod,GA,vernalization,and independent pathways to control plant flowering.CO gene promotes flowering through regulating FT(FLOWERING LOCUS T) and SOC 1(SUPRESSOR OF OVEREXPRESSION OF CONSTANS 1) gene expression directly in the photoperiod pathway.SOC 1,a member of MADS-box gene family,control flowering time,and it plays an important role in the process of floral development.Using rapid amplification of c DNA ends(RACE) to clone c DNA.Bioinformaties analysis showed that full length was 912 bp,with the open reading frame(ORF) of 672 bp,encoding 223 amino acids.We obtained the SOC 1 gene from Cymbidium tortisepalum with phylogenetic analysis.It is the basic for further study of this gene function.
