Effects of GA_3 and 6-BA on the Seed Germination and Seedling Growth of Verbena Hortensis

Abstract
In this paper,the seed germination and the seedling growth of verbena hortensis were studied by treating with different concentrations of GA3 and 6-BA,including germination potential,germination rate,the physiological activities,relative electricity conductivity of seed extract,and dry weight and fresh weight of seedling.The results showed that germination rate,germination potential,TTC reducing power and POD activity were increased after treating with GA3 and 6-BA.While relative electricity conductivity of seed extract were decreased.Also the root length and dry matter accumulation of seedling and seed vigor were higher than that of control.The effect of 6-BA was better than GA3.The best effect of 6-BA presented in 10 mg/L treatment with the germination rate of 89.6%,as well as GA3 was in 300 mg/L treatments with the germination rate of 87.5%.
