Abstract
La problématique de l’éclatement du social, en posant l’unité comme paradigme, participe d’un effet d’institution qui appelle à la (re)construction du social. Reste à saisir à quoi ce mouvement peut aboutir. Les auteurs, après s’être efforcés de montrer les apories d’une appréhension du social comme objet clos et circonscrit, proposent un déplacement de la perspective. À leurs yeux, le social doit être saisi comme un champ, c’est-à-dire comme un espace d’articulation de logiques plurielles. La forme dans laquelle se condense cette articulation à un moment donné n’est que conjoncturelle et provisoire; elle traduit la nature profonde du social : un réceptacle d’attentions momentanées et d’interrogations diverses émanant de logiques irréductibles et résultant de dynamiques historiques sédimentées, qui néanmoins s’assemblent par des pontages toujours incertains et improbables pour donner matérialité et sens à une préoccupation collective et donc à un enjeu social.
