In vitro human β-casein hydrolysate stimulate spleen lymphocyte of mouse proliferation and secretion of cytokine

Abstract
Human β-casein was obtained by anion exchange chromatography and the hydrolysate was derived from the enzymatic trypsinhydrolysate of human β-casein. The effects of treatments with human β-casein hydrolysate containing Con-A at different concentrations on spleen lymphocyte proliferation under different culture times were determined by MTT method. The contents of IL-2, IFN-γ, IL-4 and IL-6 were determined by ELISA. The results showed that human β-casein hydrolysate promoted Con-A-induced lymphoproliferation, and 48 h administration gave the best proliferation. It could markedly increase the type 1 cytokine(IL-2, IFN-γ) production, and could markedly down-regulate the type 2 cytokine(IL-6), it could improve the IFN-γ/IL-4 value markedly.
