Adsorption and Decolouration Process of Molasses Alcohol Wastewater by Using Modified Bentonite

Abstract
Structures of modified bentonite were analysed by XRD and FTIR. The factors affecting the decolouration of the molasses alcohol wastewater by the modified bentonite were investigated. The optimal treatment conditions by organobentonite and Na-bentonite were obtained. The experiment results show that the decoloring ratio of molasses alcohol wastewater by organobentonite is greater than Na-bentonite, the former can reach 89.6% and the latter only 41.3%. The optimal treatment conditions of molasses alcohol wastewater by organobentonite are as follows: oganobentonite concentration is 5g(100mL)-1, pH value of treated wastewater is 9, adsorption temperature is around 70℃, and adsorption time is about 60min.
