Abstract
H.264 is a new video coding standard revised by ISO/IEC MPEG and ITU-T VCEG,whose encoding performance is far beyond former video encoding standard。But in windows platform,Windows Media Player needs an additional codec plug-in for playing the H.264 video.There is some codec plug-in supporting the H.264 video stream form AVI file container playback under Windows Media Player like ffdshow,but There are no free codec plug-in supporting the H.264 video stream from ASF container playback.This paper will introduce how to build a codec plug-in with Windows Media Player supporting the H.264 video stream from ASF container playback,using DMO technique and open source program named ffmpeg.
