Abstract
En este artículo, Henry Giroux denuncia la lógica mercantilista que está poniendo en jaque a la Educación Superior, no sólo en EE. UU. sino también en el resto del mundo. La creencia que la educación es un bien público y un bien social está siendo desplazada por la noción netamente instrumental de la educación, cuantificable y reducida a reproducir sistemas operativos. Ya no existe una mirada democrática sobre la escuela. Por esta razón es crucial que los docentes identifiquen y reconozcan las formas de dominación intelectual y pedagógica, de modo que puedan resistir responsablemente a través de una pedagogía de la ruptura. Este artículo propone algunas acciones que los educadores debieran poner en marcha para recuperar y salvaguardar la verdadera misión de la educación.
