Effects of NaCl-Stress on Seed Germination and Plant Morphology of Corn Landraces

Abstract
With 5 maize landraces as materials to investigate seed germination and physiology under NaCl-stress by laboratory culture.The results showed that NaCl-stress had a negative influence on seed germination and physiology to a degree,and there existed genotype differences of maize landraces in tolerance to NaCl-stress.Wholly,there were differences in tolerance to NaCl-stress both among maize landraces with the same trait and different traits of one maize landrace.Based on the NaCl-stress indexes of maize landraces,DP 44 could be classified as the landrace tolerant to NaCl-stress,and DP 21 as the most sensitive.Additionally,corn varieties tolerant to NaCl-stress could be improved genetically.
