Abstract
The article discusses the orientation programs in some of the countries,such as the U.S.,Canada and Australia. Research suggests that international student orientation programs do help overseas students overcome the culture shock period of encountering the new cultures at the very beginning. The international students orientation program in most Chinese universities are neither well organized nor sufficient enough to meet the needs of the increasing tendency of international students in main land China in these years. Comparative study must be undertaken to learn from the universities which have well developed international students service and orientation program in the U.S.,Canada,Australia for the purpose of improving international students education in China.
