Abstract
In this experiment,the leaves and stems of alfalfa (Medicago sativa)were treated by 2.5% potassium carbonate solution and sodium bicarbonate solution to observe the effect of potassium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate on anatomical structure of alfalfa.The anatomical structure results showed that,two kinds of solution had a certain destructive influence on the cuticle of stems and leaves,the two chemical agent all could speed up the moisture evaporation of alfalfa stems and leaves,in which the role of potassium carbonate was significantly larger than that of sodium bicarbonate.Meanwhile,The results showed that,not only the epidermis cuticle was destroyed,the stem cortex parenchyma cells stem space significantly increased after treated by 2.5% potassium carbonate solution,and greatly reduced the drying time of stem,and decreased the resistance of water movement on stalk.
