Abstract

The Doppler spectrum measurement capability on air targets including helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft is analyzed firstly. The shape statistics (skewness and kurtosis) can be used as the feature for target identification with respect to Doppler spectrum of these two targets when the measurement capability is satisfied. This method is proved to be efficient by testing the simulation data of the eighteen kinds of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. It can also be applied to detection and identification of hovering helicopters.
