Abstract
The karyotype analysis of Avena sativa L.,which took from the cornfield in Fengyang area of Anhui province,was reported.The results are as follows: it is allohexaploid species of Avena L.,the number of chromosomes is 2n=42,morphological variations is obvious to the 21 pairs of chromosomes,but all of them are median and submedian centromeric chromosomes,relative length ratio between the longest chromosome and shortest one is 2.34,and there are two relatively clear pair of small satellite occurred on the chromosome 9 and 16,the karyotype formula is 2n=6x=42=22m+20sm(2SAT).the karyotype type is 2B.At the same time,we have discussed some questions about Avena sativa L.,as the important genetic resources of common wheat,it has sense for distant hybridization and quality improvement.
