Abstract
Objective:To study the effects of peritoneal dialysis(PD)and hemodialysis(HD)on cardiac structure and functionof patients with diabetic nephropathy(DN).Methods:A total of 80patients with DN admitted in our hospital from January 2011to April 2012were selected and divided into HD group and PD group with 40cases in each group,ultrasound cath was performed in both group to observe the blood pressure and blood volume change,as well as the changes of cardiac structure and function in both groups.Results:The left ventricular mass index and left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH)incidence of PD group was lower than that of HD group(P0.05),there was no significant difference in the left ventricular ejection fraction and E/A between the two groups.Lower blood albumin,systolic blood pressure and ultrafiltration volume and higher standardized extracellular fluid volume were observed in PD group,compared with HD group.Conclusion:LVH incidence of DN patients with PD treatment is lower than that with HD therapy,thus PD can be used as the preferred dialysis way for patients with DN.
