Abstract
The paper attempts a historical and realistic exploration of education in its narrow and broad senses,expounding the significance of education as a productive force and revealing the innate nature of education as the “source or basic productive force”.Moreover,based on Deng Xiao_ping's theory on “education,talents,science and technology”,the author of the paper probes into the nature of education,testifying to the fact that education is the “source productive force of science and technology—the first productive force.
