Abstract
By analyzing the synthetic polarization state when light passes the single retarder or compound retarders, the method of graphic analysis is used in this thesis. And the relationship about the azimuth of incident light, the retard of phase, the azimuth angle of retarder and synthetic light, the ellipticity and the rotaring direction of synthetic light is obtained illustratively.
