Dry Seeds of Althaea rosea were irradiated with 60Co-γ ray and the germination conditions were observed in incubators(petri dishes) and greenhouse separately.The results showed that after irradiation,seed germination rate,germination energy,vigor index and emergence rate were restrained and it was negatively correlated with irradiation dose increasing significantly.The maximum germination day was delayed and seedling height decreased with the increase of irradiation dose.Compared with seeds in petri dishes,seed viabilities in incubators were higher and achieved the maximum day early.The seedling height and the percentage of seedling emergency were higher than the latter,too.Semi-lethal dose of Althaea rosea seeds were 82.65 Gy and 59.55 Gy as in incubators and greenhouse.
