Abstract
In 1947,Louis St.Laurent,the foreign minister of Canada delivered a speech in Toronto.His speech included the Five Principles of Diplomacy,i.e.,unity;freedom;supremacy of law;respecting human values and moral principles;assuming diplomatic responsibilities.This diplomatic policy had clear characteristics of idealism.The Five Principles of Diplomacy became the main content of Canada's diplomatic policy at Louis St.Laurent's Time.And it's mainly the result of the influences of Canada's geographic position,population,the relationship with America,historic memories,domestic politics and etc.
