PREPARATION OF GOLD NANOCLUSTER USING DENDRIMER AS TEMPLATE AND ITS CHARACTERIZATION

Abstract
Gold nanoclusters were prepared by reduction of HAuCl_4 with NaBH_4 in the presence of poly(amidoamine) dendrimers with surface methyl ester groups in N,N-dimethylformamide.Gold nanoclusters with smaller particle size,better diameter distribution and better dispersive stability were obtained by using higher generation dendrimer as template from UV-vis spectra measurement and TEM characterization.In addition,we discussed how the dendrimers acted as templates for the preparation of gold nanoparticles.There are two possibilities for gold-dendrimer nanocomposites: one is that the gold nanoparticle is surrounded by several dendrimers for lower generation;and the other is that gold nanoparticles are encapsulated in the higher generation dendrimers.
