Abstract
Because of the simplicity and visualization, the configuration software has great advantage in programming. But as confined by the number of components and their associated functions within the groupware, it is very difficult to produce a software to implement functions that the groupware can not provide. Control Builder is the control configuration software made by Honeywell Corporation. After briefly introducing its programming basics, This paper proposes a new approach to program advanced control strategies using the existing groupware only. At last, temperature control application results in the cement kiln using the modern control theory strategy produced by the proposed programming approach are supplied.
