Abstract
As a valuable wealth of enterprises,Legacy systems play an important role in the process of IT strategy. The integration of legacy systems will pose a serious challenge that enterprises have to face. A solution of legacy system integration based on Web Services and workflow is proposed in this paper—LEGINE. In LEGINE,Web Services technology is utilized to wrap legacy systems into web services,which can be shared across systems. Then LEGINE makes use of the process definition and task management abilities of workflow engines,so that it can reengineer and integrate business processes in a dynamic way. Proved by practices,LEGINE is a feasible method to integrate legacy systems,customize their business processes,and the cost of customizing is also largely reduced.
