Objective To assess the efficacy of moxibustion on Du meridian points in treating mild cognitive impairment using neuropsychological scales.Methods Sixty patients diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment using neuropsychological scales were randomly allocated to treatment and control groups,30 cases each.The treatment group received moxibustion and the control group,medication.Evaluation was made using neuropsychological scales in both groups after treatment.A comparison was made between pretreatment and posttreatment and between the two groups.Results Neuropsychological scales-MMSE and MoCA scores and the ADL score were higher after treatment than before in both groups(P0.05).The MMSE,MoCA and ADL scores improved more in the treatment group than in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion Moxibustion on Du meridian points has a special advantage in improving cognitive function in patients with mild cognitive impairment.It is an effective treatment.
