Canada is a country with multi-ethnic groups,multi-cultures and multi-languages.Indians are the earliest residents in Canada,who played important role in the development of history and cultural change of Canada.For aboriginal people and ethnic groups,education is not only the way for them to enter the main stream of society and gain social status,but also an effective way to inherit and develop their precious cultures.In the history of developing for in Canada,the movement of Indians taking charge of Indian education is of milestone significance.This paper,on the basis of analyzing the historical background of the movement,expounds on the basic principle,content,and significance of the movement and discusses its inspirations to ethnic minority in China as well.
