Spatial structure optimization of city-town concentrated area of Lanzhou-Xining in the view of principal functional zones

Abstract
City-town concentrated area have been the growth pole in development of regional economy and regional society.Its spatial structure profoundly impacts the regional growth and pushes the holistic development of society and economy.City-town concentrated area in Lanzhou-Xining connects the Middle-Eastern region and the Western region and the Qingzang Altiplano,Also this region locates at the upper reaches of the Yellow River which is an impressible environment.We studied the spatial structure of this region.It showed that high imbalance and the otherness of spatial structure in this region restricted the regional development in society and economy and the protection of environment.Consequently,under the idea of principal functional zones,we put forward four points to optimize regional spatial structure in terms of the principle of adjust measures to local conditions,shorten the regional spatial distance,advance all-around,harmonious and continuable development of this region.
