Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the efficiency of sterilizing tomato seeds with 0.1% mercuric chloride and 3%-4%sodium hypochlorite solution.Methods:Tomato seeds were firstly immersed in 3%-4% sodium hypochlorite solution for 20 min with shaking and then rinsed three or four times with sterile distilled water.Tomato seeds were firstly immersed in 0.1% mercuric chloride for 10 to 15 min with shaking and then rinsed four or five times with sterile distilled water.Germinated the seeds on TMT1 medium.Observed the formost germinating time,the cotyledons emerging time and the whole germinating time of sterilization of tomato seeds with two sterilants respectively.Results:The formost germinating time,the cotyledons emerging time and the whole germinating time of tomato seeds with two sterilants respectively have significant difference(p0.01).Conclusion: It's better for sterilizating tomato seeds with 3%-4% sodium hypochlorite solution.
