Abstract
In his novel of A Quarter of Heaven,Wang Chun-fang presents his unique contemplation of Shenzhen. In the novel,Shenzhen no longer has the connotation of enclosure of spiritual home and deliberately isolating from others. The author's imagination and construction of Shenzhen breaks the approaches which city exists only as a background in previous novels,but sets the city as a subject which parallels with person and continuously shows its strong power to people in games and contests. In this process,the heart of people is alienated. The imagination of Shenzhen in the novel is completed through the mutual construction between people and city,which can be interpreted from two pairs of human relations of friendship and love.
