Abstract
Depression is a kind of common mental disease and great progress has been made in its diagnosis and treatment in recent years. The research and development of natural antidepressant drugs become the new hot spots and St John's wort is one of the representatives. This review introduces the pharmacological mechanism of St John's wort, the clinical application and market sales of listed varieties and the progress of varieties in development.
