Abstract
The meaning of metaphor and personification of plants generally refers to the virtue,however,in fact it also refers to evil character partially.The evil characters derive from many features of bamboos,such as envying the old bamboo,sharp-tongued,thick skin,hollow,fold quarter and branch off.The symbolic meaning of bamboo has a good and evil quality at the same time for the reasons of economic material use and the evolution of the intellectual history,but plants' characteristics of bamboo are the most important factor.
