Effect of smoking regime on ammonia delivery in mainstream cigarette smoke

Abstract
In order to study effect of different smoking regime on ammonia delivery,15 domestic cigarette samples were smoked with ISO,Massachusetts and Health Canada methods,and their ammonia delivery was determined with chromatography of ions.Results showed that(1) comparing with ISO standard method,for perforated filter cigarettes ammonia delivery of blended type cigarettes increased by more than 70%,and that of Virginia type cigarettes increased by more than 25% with Massachusetts method adopted,while under same condition save with Health Canada method,that of blended type cigarette increased by more than 100%,Virginia type cigarettes increased by more than 40%.(2) As for unperforated filter cigarettes,ammonia delivery with Massachusetts method was in line with Health Canada,and increased by more than 30% comparing with ISO method.
