Abstract
Habitat selection by Capricornis sumatraensis in winter in Guanyin Mountain Nature Reserve of Shaanxi Province was studied from November 2011 to March 2012.The main ecological factors notably influenced on habitat selection of Capricornis sumatraensis in winter were shrub size,shrub density,shrub dispersion,tree size,tree density,tree dispersion,rock distant,slope,canopy,hiding cover,food abundance and elevation.Furthermore,Capricornis sumatraensis often selected lower slope of gradient with sunny exposure together with mixed forest or broad-leaved forest.Capricornis sumatraensis preferred to live in the area near water source and far away from human disturbances in winter.
