Abstract
Distance Education in Canada has captured the educational perception of educators and policy makers alike.For them, distance education offers new possibilities to open up access to learning opportunities that have been beyond the reach of remote communities so that learners remain in their home communities with their families. At the same time,distance education is a potentially cost-effective delivery system that can provide equitable access to services while limiting instructional costs. Canada has a long history of developing distance education with its particular characteristics, which is expected to shed light on minority distance education in China
