As an advanced Petri net, the colored Petri Net is well suited for modeling and analyzing large and complex systems for importing some concepts such as time information, color sets, hierarchical models etc. CPN Tools include support for generating random numbers from different distributions, for collecting data during simulation, for generating different kinds of performance-related output, and for running multiple simulation replications. We can make a precise simulation of real world phenomena using CPN, and have an accurate performance analysis by defining some monitors in CPN Tools. To illustrate the CPN and the usability of CPN Tools, we give a simple example of simulation based performance analysis by analyzing a noshery.
