This paper estimates the optimal hedging ratio and examines the hedging effectiveness using Minimum-Risk method in Hang Seng Index Futures,SP 500 Index Futures,Nikkei 225 Stock Index Futures and China 300 Index Futures market.We measured hedging ratio using four different models:(i) the OLS method,(ii) VAR,(iii) VECM and() DCC-MVGARCH.The results shown that the hedge ratio is greater estimated by VECM than other models.But we found no evidence to suggest that complex econometric models such as DCC-MVGARCH can improve hedging effectiveness on a simple OLS,VAR and VECM for estimating this hedge ratio.
